Workshop on - Time Management

(July 21, 2006)

One of the most important takeaways was - 'Why time management approaches fail?' Time management "systems" often fail because they are born of perfectionism and unrealistic expectations. For instance, some people don't initiate a time management approach until they're already falling behind in their work; they undertake time management as a means of catching up. The workshop helped all participants understand - Time is our most important asset and it needs to be managed not as an exception but as a requirement and on a regular basis.

SEED workshop on Time Management helped all participants understand - Time is the most important asset.

The workshop took everyone through practical approaches to managing time. From identification of barriers to effective time management to goal setting, task division, delegation and from estimation of efforts to use of checklists/To-Do lists, timelines, limit interruptions, and various other strategies.

Summarizing, SEED shared that time management is not a school skill. It allows you to understand how much time you really spend in the various areas of your life. With more effort the goals and tasks will solidify, awareness of time use will sharpen and ability to make a workable time plan will improve.
